We're back!

Hi there! it’s been a while! Turns out having a baby really affects your newsletter writing abilities. But our little farm baby is 1 year old (crazy!) and I’m going to try and get back on a monthly CSA update schedule - we love the idea of all of you being able to follow along with us through the season. So stay tuned for exclusive photos of baby Oradel on the farm and updates about crops through the season.

We want to officially welcome you to the 2022 season! It’s been a nice quiet winter and a fast April - we are ready to get going. We have started plants in the greenhouse, put up a new high tunnel in the field to grow more and better tomatoes and we are getting excited for this year’s growing season. We have lots of returning staff so we can can hit the ground running. We have compost spread on the fields and tractor maintenance finished up.

Our annual plant sale has started April and will run through the end of May (pickups on Saturdays at various locations). So if you’re looking for vegetable starts this spring please continue to check out our emails about that. We have started planting for CSA shares in the fields with our first harvest set for the 1st or 2nd week of June depending on the weather. In the meantime, I will update here periodically and send email updates as needed through out the spring. We are so happy that you are here to join us for another growing season - it should be a delicious one!

Lastly, you may or may not have heard about our current zoning application and hearings at the Solebury Township Zoning Board. We are currently trying to get permission from the township to allow us to use one of the buildings on the farm for people to come pick up their CSA shares and get some tasty bites from the farm kitchen. It’s been a long, slow process. We are hopeful the township will rule in our favor in order to make it easier for farms to sell what they grow and prosper in our area. If you’d like more info, please email me and I’d be happy to provide you with more details. We will be updating you as we get more information from the board in the next few weeks!

In the meantime - we farm on!

Best,

Malaika, Breezy, Tammy, Mckenna, Kayla, Sam and Duma
