The Winter Share is almost open for the 2018 Season!
We are so happy to offer the opportunity for our members to be able to eat from the farm all through the winter. Eating soups, stews and winter greens is a perfect way to get through the coldest months of the year. We work all fall to fill the root cellar with sweetest and heartiest of vegetables, and the pantry with delicious preserves in order to distribute to members all winter long.
Our winter share consists of free choice of 5-10 pounds of stored veggies straight from the root cellar (beets, turnips, rutabaga, carrots, radishes, cabbage, celery root, potatoes, onions, parsnips, garlic, and winter squash). Shares will also include value added products such as tomato sauce, ketchup, tomato puree, tomato butter, pepper sauce, pepper powder and sauerkraut. We will also distribute fresh winter salad greens and kale from our unheated greenhouses.
We will harvest fresh greens from the fields as long as the weather allows each season. Then we will dip into the stores of veggies we grew all summer and harvested in the fall. The winter share is a great way to get high quality veggies all year long.
All shares are every other week from December 6th through February 14th (6 pickups total). The Pickup is at the Roots to River Farm Market at Gravity Hill, 67 Pleasant Valley Rd, Titusville, NJ 08560. Just 8 minutes from downtown Lambertville. Thursdays from 2:30-6:30 pm. $225
